Dan Aykroyd Loves the New 'Ghostbusters'
Without question, the most polarizing movie of the year is the Ghostbusters reboot - and nobody's even seen it yet. Well, the general public hasn't seen it yet, but a few lucky souls have managed to view advanced screenings of the film. One such person is original Ghostbusters star and creator Dan Aykroyd, and what he says about the new film is surprising.

Posting his reaction to his Facebook page, Aykroyd writes:

Opening quote
"As originator of the original: Saw test screening of new movie. Apart from brilliant, genuine performances from the cast both female and male, it has more laughs and more scares than the first 2 films plus Bill Murray is in it! As one of millions of man-fans and Ray Stantz, I'm paying to see that and bringing all my friends!"

More laughs and scares than the original two? That's pretty high praise, and seems... a bit far-fetched. However, we're willing to reserve judgement until seeing the film for ourselves. Aykryod's gushing really isn't all that surprising when you think about. He's the one who's been trying to get another Ghostbusters movie off the ground for two decades, and he's been very ambitious about seeing the Ghostbusters franchise expand into something larger and more akin to Star Wars and Marvel. He probably stands to make a good deal of money off the new movie if it does well, so he was never going to trash it, but saying that it's both funnier and scarier than the original (and its sequel) definitely has us intrigued.
