Supergirl Will Introduce Superman in Season 2
Supergirl is already set to mash-up with about a million other superheroes in the monstrous Supergirl/Flash/Arrow/LOT crossover, but we can add one more slightly well-known DC hero to that list. None other than Superman himself will appear in two episodes of the second season, starting with the season premiere.

Superman has shown up several times on Supergirl in one form or another, from silly IMs to a brief glimpse of Superman's blurry outline in the pilot to the young Kryptonian Kal-El in the "Girl Who Has Everything" dream sequence. But this is the first time Kara's cousin will show up as an actual character, as they're currently casting for the adult Clark Kent.
Opening quote
"Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said. "Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!"
Closing quote

This will likely inspire mixed feelings among fans, since Supergirl already has to work hard to get out from Superman's shadow, both in-universe and in real life. But then again, it's been pretty awkward to keep mentioning him without actually showing him onscreen, so hopefully this will herald a more self-assured era for the show.

Supergirl season 2 will air on Mondays on The CW this fall.
