Leaked Fan Reactions Claim Suicide Squad's Batman Is "The Animated Series Personified"
Suicide Squad has already received glowing reviews from early test screenings, but a few more have leaked out on Twitter and Reddit, and they're similarly rapturous:

Of course, we have no idea if these early reactions actually mean anything, since they've generally been positive for recent blockbusters, even terrible ones like Batman v Superman and Fantastic Four. However, some of the specific feedback seems incredibly promising, both for the film and the future of the DCEU. Specifically, several fans on Reddit threads have claimed that Suicide Squad's version of Batfleck helms very closely to the Batman in the Animated Series from the 90s.

The BIG thing is that the movie literally saves DCEU Batman. This Batman is BTAS personified.

Just about everyone I've talked to who saw the early screening and made it public on Twitter said... that he's VERY different from BvS's Batman and is pretty close to Batman TAS's Batman.

Considering that Batman was one of the most acclaimed parts of Batman v Superman, I don't know that he necessarily needed "saving." But he's reportedly a little less murderous in Suicide Squad, so that would be a positive development.

But Batman is rumored to have only five minutes of screentime, so he's not the biggest takeaway from the film. The biggest consensus is that Harley Quinn "steals the show." Redditor Malachim, who claimed to have attended a test screening, stated "she's a star and everyone will love her." Redditor trevormax1234 went into more detail:

Without a DOUBT the best character in the film is Harley Quinn. I can easily see now why Warner Brothers are pushing for a film with her front and centre. She isn't front and centre in this film as it's more of an ensemble piece, but she is still a focal point. And Margot knocked it out of the park. I don't want to see anyone else play Harley Quinn again, ever. Margot Robbie IS Harley Quinn.

Jared Leto's Joker, who has been fairly controversial leading up to the film's release, is reported to be a smaller part of the film, taking up about 20 minutes of screentime. But he's receiving positive--if not rave--reviews, with fans claiming that he fits into the film's aesthetic:

Opening quote
So obviously the biggest question everyone has is about THE JOKER. Was Leto any good? Yes, he was good. Will he be seen as a better Joker than Heath Ledger? I don't think so, but again it's an unfair comparison as they are both very different incarnations of the joker. Leto's is downright insane and is definitely the scariest joker we have ever seen on screen. But I think a lot of people will just compare him to Ledgers performance. Ledger had a stronger performance but don't get me wrong. Jared has done a great job and fits the films aesthetic perfectly. I would have preferred a bit more screen time but I still loved what we saw.

And if you're wondering what they mean when they talk about the "aesthetic," it's been described as "gritty superhero movie meets Hot Topic":

Opening quote
I'm sure critics will find ways to hate it (it's basically a gritty action movie with comic book characters and a Hot Topic aesthetic, which honestly might turn critics off), but DC fans will like it.

Again, we need to take these reactions with a grain of salt, especially considering that none of these fan accounts can be verified. And even if they are verified, it's only a few opinions on a rough cut of the film. But still, the fact that DC is doubling down on Harley Quinn with a spin-off and fast-tracking the Batman movie seems to support this buzz, so it's possible that Suicide Squad will be just as great as everyone is saying.
