The Walking Dead Was the Most-Tweeted Show of the Year
The Walking Dead is the most-watched series on cable right now, so unsurprisingly, it's also the biggest show on social media. According to a new Nielsen report, AMC's juggernaut has taken the top spot on Twitter for the third year in a row:

Top Ten Series on Twitter

According to the report, fans tweeted about The Walking Dead at an average of 435,000 tweets per episode, beating out buzzy shows with huge social media presences like Empire, Game of Thrones, reality dating and music shows, and Shondaland.

This comes as no surprise, considering that The Walking Dead averages 18 million viewers every episode. But the powers-that-be should keep in mind that not all of the attention is positive, especially after that trainwreck of a finale (which, for all we know, could have accounted for 50% of the yearly tweets, considering the pronounced reaction).

The Walking Dead returns this fall on AMC.
