Rian Johnson Shares a Skywalker-Themed Photo from the Set of Star Wars: Episode VIII
It's a testament to the amount of work that goes into a movie like Star Wars: Episode VIII that despite the fact it's not released for another 18 months, it's already preparing to wrap principle photography. After a number of months of filming across the globe, Star Wars: Episode VIII is approaching the end of filming, ushering in many months of CGI tinkering and polishing. In celebration of nearing the conclusion of a major part of his movie's journey to the big screen, director Rian Johnson has shared a new photo from Episode VIII's home at Pinewood Studios in London.

Seen below, Johnson shared the image to his Tumblr with a simple caption of "In the home stretch."

As usual, Rian Johnson's latest set photo doesn't give much away, but it sure is nice to look at. The cloak hanging in front of that rocky cliff appears to be a far muddier, and far more worn version of the one worn by Luke Skywalker during his brief appearance at the end of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

So, what does it mean? Well, there might be some who would take the cloak's battle-weary appearance and jump to a conclusion about Luke Skywalker's death, but that would be a fairly significant leap in logic. More likely is that this is just exactly what it looks like...a very pretty teaser that will no doubt get many Star Wars fans very, very excited.
