Suicide Squad Will Have a "Major Presence" at San Diego Comic Con
After Batman v Superman's disappointing performance, DC is putting all of their eggs in the Suicide Squad basket, which means a full-on hostile takeover of San Diego Comic Con, complete with cast appearances, signings, and even a real-life recreation of the Belle Reve Penitentiary.

The festivities begin well before Comic Con, with DC's Squad Up! Thursday cosplay contest will invite you to dress up like your favorite Squad member and upload it to Instagram with the hashtag #SquadUpContest (#SquadGoals would have been funnier, but whatever). And it will behoove you to dress up like one of the less popular ones (aka not Harley or Joker), because there will be one winner for each main character, 11 winners total, who will all receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Comic Con next month.

And then, at the actual con, cast members will be available at the Suicide Squad booth to sign autographs and take pictures with fans, and the nearby Hard Rock Hotel will be turned into a real-life Belle Reve, complete with a Harley Quinn tattoo parlor and VR experience in which fans get to fight alongside their favorite antiheroes in a scene from the film.

It hasn't yet been announced which cast members will make an appearance, but DC seems determined to push the film, so it will probably be most, if not all, of the main actors. It's also unclear whether there will be an actual panel, but we'd imagine that it will be the main focus of DC's Hall H presentation, which is remaining tightly under wraps, as per usual.

San Diego Comic Con runs from July 21-24, and Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5.
