This couldn't possibly mean what we hope it means, right? Donald Glover is reportedly in talks to join Spider-Man: Homecoming, but there's no word on whether he could be playing a live-action version of Miles Morales.

Glover has previously campaigned very enthusiastically and publicly to play Spider-Man, particularly when Sony was casting for the 2012 reboot. And while both Glover's and fans' campaigns went unanswered in the live-action franchise, Glover had a chance to voice Miles Morales in the animated Ultimate Spider-Man series.

But still, calls for a Miles Morales adaptation came up again when Marvel was recasting the role, and while everyone loves Tom Holland, we could definitely use more superheroes played by people of color. Is there a possibility that Glover will play Miles Morales and be spun off? It's more likely that he'll play another character, since having two Spider-Man franchises at one time would be a little confusing, and Holland is just getting started. But we can dream, right?

Spider-Man: Homecoming also stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Zendaya as the as-yet-unnamed female lead, and Michael Keaton as an undisclosed villain. The film will come out on July 7, 2017.
