Carrie Fisher Has Started a Dark Side Advice Column
Advice columns are slowly making a bit of a comeback. After growing to a point of outdated cliche a few years ago, more and more mainstream publications are dedicating precious real estate to readers' questions, giving us a chance to seek the sage advice of Agony Aunts and Uncles of varying levels of fame. But, if you've not yet seen a guru worthy of your geeky first world problems, hope may be on the horizon from an awesome source.

Carrie Fisher might be best known as Sci-Fi royalty from her time in Star Wars, but she's now trading in the task of organizing The Resistance against The First Order for organizing our lives with a new advice column over at The Guardian. Titled Advice from the Dark Side', Fisher's new column seeks to give much needed life advice to "young folk" who might not have seen as much of the world or experienced the ups and downs that someone like she has.

Sure, you might be thinking that Fisher is an odd choice for an advice guru, but as she brilliantly points out in her call for questions, her turbulent life has given her a perspective on things that many might struggle to match.

Opening quote
Hilariously – after all the drug addiction and celebration marriage and mental illness and divorce and shock treatment and heartbreak and motherhood and childhood and neighborhood and hood in general – I've turned out to be (at close to 70) a kind of happy person (go figure!). A human who's had her fair share of challenging and unhappy experiences. Over time, I've paid attention, taken notes and forgotten easily half of everything I've gone through. But I'll rifle through the half I recall and lay it at your feet.
Closing quote

If you've ever seen interviews with Fisher, you know this is going to be an entertaining column that will no doubt blend a nice bit of Dark and Light Side advice, although we suspect she'll defy her Star Wars roots and lean towards the path of darkness.
