Jeffrey Dean Morgan Wants to Play Flashpoint Batman
Grant Gustin just officially revealed that the Flash TV show is adapting Flashpoint in its third season, but will we ever see the classic comics storyline in the movies? That remains to be seen, but if the powers-that-be do decide to make a Flashpoint movie, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is 100% on board to play Batman.

In the Flashpoint comics, Barry Allen wakes up to find himself in a timeline where his mother is alive, his father is dead, and the entire world has basically been turned upside down. There is no Superman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman are at war with each other, and Captain Cold is Central City's greatest hero. And in this timeline, Bruce Wayne was killed by Joe Chill in front of that movie theater, leaving Thomas Wayne to take up the mantle of Batman.

Morgan has already played Thomas Wayne in the opening montage of Batman v Superman, and he's a well-known and respected actor, so he would be the natural choice to play the Flashpoint version of Batman. At a fan event over the weekend (via Comicbook.com), a young fan asked Morgan if he would be interested in reprising his role if the movies ever adapted Flashpoint, and Morgan's answer was pretty much exactly what you'd expect:
Opening quote
"Man, I would love to play that Batman... It would be very cool," Morgan said. "Flashpoint would be very cool."
Closing quote

Of course, Morgan was just responding to a fan question, and most actors wouldn't turn down a significant role in a comic book blockbuster in today's climate. But there seems to be a little more to this story than just wishful thinking, as Morgan also stated that he has been sending a constant stream of text messages to Zack Snyder to try to convince him to give him a larger role in the DCEU.

Although it seems somewhat unlikely that Flashpoint will be adapted with Morgan as Batman, especially since Ben Affleck has so much star power and has received rave reviews as the Caped Crusader, this sounds like a great idea. It would be a perfect way to inject new life into the DCEU films whenever they hit a snag, it eliminates the franchise's most boring and mishandled character (no offense to Henry Cavill), and places the focus on Gal Godot, Jason Momoa, and Ezra Miller, all of whom are immensely talented. And, if they did include Morgan as Batman, that would also mean that Lauren Cohan would play the Flashpoint Joker, which would be a way more fun Walking Dead reunion than that tired cameo in Batman v Superman.
