EW's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Cover Confirms Darth Vader's Appearance
With Star Wars Celebration and San Diego Comic Con on the horizon, it's likely that we'll start learning more and more about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in the coming weeks. Among the many mysteries surrounding the first Star Wars spin-off is the question of which familiar characters will be joining the ranks of the new faces in the movie. Of course, with Rogue One based during a time in which the Empire was at its prime, no other name has been mentioned more than that of Darth Vader.

For many months, rumors of Vader's appearance in the movie have come and gone. Disney has kept quiet on the matter, a fact which has only intensified the speculation. Today that speculation all comes to an end, because Entertainment Weekly's latest cover movie is Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and right alongside Felicity Jones is the confirmation we've all been waiting for.

Vader's appearance in the movie should never really have been in doubt, but that won't make seeing the words "Vader is back" any less relieving Now, it would seem, the questions can turn to how big of a role the Dark Lord will play. Rumor has it that this will be a far more athletic and agile Vader than we witnessed in the original trilogy movies. Further rumors have suggested we'll witness Vader on the battlefield, ripping through the Rebel ranks with lightsaber in hand.

Opening quote
"Darth Vader kind of looms large over the plot even when he's not necessarily on screen because the new villain played by Ben Mendleson, he's trying to fulfill the wishes of the emperor and he's got kinda Vader looming in the background over his shoulder, making sure that he gets the job done." EW's Anthony Breznican told ABC News.
