The Walking Dead's Chad L. Coleman to Play the Villain on Arrow Season 5
Arrow is resurrecting a Walking Dead alum for their new Big Bad. Chad L. Coleman has just joined the DC Comics show as criminal mastermind Tobias Church, the new villain in the upcoming fifth season.

Church is described as "an imposing gangster looking to unite the various criminal enterprises in Star City under his own singular command" (per IGN, who first reported the news). His first appearance will be in the season premiere, and then will have a recurring role thereafter.

Coleman is best known for playing Tyreese on The Walking Dead, as well as Cutty Wise on The Wire. And speaking of The Wire, there have been reports that the character will be modeled after Stringer Bell, Idris Elba's character on the acclaimed HBO show.

Arrow season five seems to be getting back to its grittier, more grounded roots--which is a very good thing--if the casting reports are any indication. In addition to Coleman's gangster, the season will see Madison McLaughlin's Evelyn Sharp return, this time as the vigilante Artemis, as well as Rick Gonzales as the vigilante Wild Dog and Josh Segarra as DA Adrian Chase, aka Vigilante. Considering Vigilante's role in the comics, it's unclear whether they'll do a bait-and-switch and portray Chase as the primary antagonist of the season, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Arrow returns in October on The CW.
