Character Breakdowns for Syfy's Krypton Revealed
The House of El is coming to Syfy, and new character breakdowns from Krypton have revealed several generations of Superman relatives, as well as ancestors of Zod, and other comics favorites.

The breakdown, per TV Line, describes Superman's grandfather, Seg-El, as an "athletic, quietly confident" twentysomething, who will be slightly less grumpy but equally moral to the incarnation in the classic Starman comics, in which he helped Starman escape other Kryptonians who were trying to dissect him. Jor-El is likely several years from being born, but the show will also introduce Superman's great-grandfather and his great-great-grandfather, Ter-El and Val-El. There are no details on Ter-El yet, but Val-El seems to have a bigger role, and is described as a "staunch believer in space exploration."

The other significant role being cast is Lyta Zod, who will "likely have some familial tie" to the Superman villain Zod. She is described as a "reluctant warrior," and since she's the female lead, will also likely be a love interest for Seg-El, which could be very interesting considering the relationship of their descendants.

The other two characters being cast are Alura Zod, Lyta's mother, and comics character Dev-Em. Alura will obviously have ties to Zod if Lyta does, and the fact that she shares her first name with Supergirl's mother, Alura In-Ze, is likely not a coincidence. Dev-Em is described as a "chiseled bad boy," and in the comics, he is known for escaping the planet when it exploded and becoming part of the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Krypton has been picked up to series on Syfy, although no official premiere date has been set.
