Report: Suicide Squad Runtime Revealed
Suicide Squad officially finished post-production over the weekend, which means we're going to get the official runtime very soon. But according to a new report from Collider, we already have it, and the finished film clocks in at 130 minutes, or two hours and ten minutes.

The report doesn't cite an official source, but unnamed industry insiders, so take the report with a grain of salt. But it sounds perfectly reasonable, and more realistic than the rumored 1 hour forty-minute runtime, which turned out to be false. If this runtime turns out to be true, it would still be the shortest film in the DCEU so far; Man of Steel was 143 minutes long, while the behemoth Batman v Superman was 151 minutes (with a three-hour Ultimate Cut). That goes for the Nolan Batman films as well: none of them was shorter than 140 minutes.

And more importantly, this is very streamlined for a team-up film. Man of Steel and the other Batman films were technically solo films, and even Batman v Superman only had three primary heroes to service. Suicide Squad, by contrast, has eleven, which means it should be like an Avengers film on steroids, but it's the shortest team-up film of all (Avengers was 143 minutes, Age of Ultron was 141 minutes, and even Captain America: Civil War was 147 minutes). All in all, we can hope that this means the plot and climax will be more elegant than usual, and that this doesn't show a lack of character development.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5.
