No, Mark Hamill Did Not Just Reveal a Major Star Wars: Episode VIII Spoiler
Mark Hamill is a wiley old cat. He's been around the Star Wars franchise long enough to know that even the faintest hint of a potential spoiler will be jumped on by fans and twisted beyond all reality. Knowing this, it's almost understandable why so many Star Wars fans got themselves in such a frenzy after Hamill's comments during a recent charity appearance in London.

The words were simple; "I finish Episode 8, and then I'm out of work,", said Hamill. The reaction was exactly as you would expect.

Within moments of those words hitting the Internet, declarations that Luke Skywalker would not be making it out of Episode VIII alive were in every corner of social media. This is, of course, a massive leap, but knowing how carefully Mark Hamill phrases every single soundbite, the comments practically invited the hysteria that followed.

Now, the Star Wars legend has taken to social media to clarify what he meant. Unsurprisingly, he says that he didn't just reveal that Luke Skywalker would meet his maker in Rian Johnson's movie.

Hamill then went on to retweet someone who actually gave context to his quote.

So, it's time to slow your roll, Star Wars fans. Luke Skywalker might well perish in Episode VIII, but if he does, you can be sure that this is not what the Hamster was referring to.

For some real Star Wars news, be sure to tune into Outer Places' coverage of Star Wars Celebration London, which gets underway on Friday July 15th.
