Han Solo Spin-Off Directors to Speak at Star Wars Celebration
Star Wars Celebration London is now just two weeks away, and while most of the schedule has been set, the show's organizers have started to deliver on their promise of "a few surprises." One of those surprises came during this week's installment of The Star Wars Show, when a special Star Wars Celebration panel was announced, giving us hope that one of the weekend's many big reveals might include details on the planned Han Solo spin-off movie.

On Sunday 17th July, Phil Lord and Christopher Millar will be joined on stage by Rian Johnson (Star Wars: Episode VIII), and Kiri Hart (Rogue One, Star Wars Rebels) for a 'Future Filmmakers' panel that could potentially be loaded with big news.

Opening quote
Get a glimpse of what the future holds in the Star Wars galaxy when the Lucasfilm Story Group's Pablo Hidalgo hosts a discussion with filmmakers Kathleen Kennedy, Kiri Hart, Rian Johnson (Star Wars: Episode VIII), and directing duo Chris Miller and Phil Lord (the untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story). The "Future Filmmaker Discussion," set for Celebration Stage on Sunday, July 17, is sure to include some surprises and end the weekend on a high note. If you're in attendance, set hyperspace coordinates accordingly - this will be a must-see event!
Closing quote

Phil Lord and Christopher Millar are preparing to direct the untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie, and while we know that Alden Ehrenreich has officially been cast in the title role, details are few and far between. Just yesterday, we learnt that a concept artist on the movie said that Lawrence and Jon Kasdan's script was "by far the best Star Wars script". This panel, which will close out the entire weekend, could be the moment we get some concrete details on the project, including its official title.

Rian Johnson's presence will also be a huge relief for fans attending the event. Until now, the programming had been leaning very heavily towards Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, with nary a mention of Star Wars: Episode VIII. But having the director there on stage means that we may well get our wish of learning Episode VIII's title, and maybe even seeing an image or two.

Star Wars Celebration runs from the July 15-17 and Outer Places will be there reporting on site all weekend long.
