Will the sci-fi mystery series Stranger Things continue Netflix's winning streak? It certainly looks promising so far, and now the 80's throwback has given us a new trailer and a pleasingly retro poster to chew on:

Stranger Things follows a woman, played by Winona Ryder, whose son goes missing as part of a complex conspiracy involving shady government experiments (probably related to the Montauk Project, since the series was originally called Montauk), as well as supernatural forces that seem to be related to the appearance of a mysterious little girl. Ryder is the biggest star in the series, but like many Spielbergian classics of that era, the kids are taking center stage, and with Wayward Pines' Matt and Ross Duffer serving as co-showrunners, we can expect this to be an entertainingly twisty and nostalgic homage, similar to Super 8 (although hopefully a little better than that).

Opening quote
A love letter to the supernatural classics of the 80's, Stranger Things is the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.
