A Giant Captain America Statue Is Coming to Brooklyn
Captain America is just a kid from Brooklyn, and now the kid is coming home. In honor of the hero's 75th anniversary, a towering statue of Steve Rogers will soon be standing in the middle of Brooklyn's Prospect Park.

The bronze statue, which is 13 feet tall and weighs a ton, will first be unveiled by Marvel at San Diego Comic-Con before making a cross-country journey to its permanent home in New York, where it is set to be erected on August 10 in a dedication ceremony.

But if you can't make it to San Diego or Brooklyn, the famous Avenger's cross country journey will be documented on Instagram, and you can purchase a 12 inch replica - but you'll have to be quick, only 750 are being made. Captain America has always been a big deal to fans of Marvel Comics, but he didn't really catch on with the public at large until Chris Evans' movie portrayal of the character took off in popularity, most recently in Captain America: Civil War. The statue is well-deserved, and we can't wait to see Cap standing proudly in Brooklyn and inspiring all who see him.
