Marvel Reveals New Iron Man Suit for Riri Williams
Marvel recently announced that Riri Williams, a black female teenage superhero, would take Tony Stark's place as Iron Man after the events of Civil War II. Now, we have our first look at her customized version of the Iron Man suit, and it's pleasingly gender-neutral:

Riri Williams Iron Man Suit
The Iron Man suit looks basically the same, but since Riri is only fifteen years old, it's made for someone with a smaller frame. I'm glad that her costume won't be revealing or too body-conscious like most other female superhero costumes, but I do hope that she isn't actually called Iron Man once she takes up the mantle, since they shouldn't hide the fact that she is, in fact, a woman. But according to Marvel's press release, she'll only be called Iron Man "for now," while she's "working on the name," so she'll probably be called Iron Woman or something similar.

Riri Williams is a child prodigy, described by creator Brian Michael Bendis as even smarter than Tony, who escaped a tragic childhood by attending MIT. She was first seen in the Invincible Iron Man comics when she cobbled together a makeshift suit with materials she found around campus, just as Iron Man's long absence from the public eye started making headlines. It was widely assumed that she would become the new War Machine, but as it turns out, Marvel has other plans for her.

Opening quote
"We're in the middle of a very big Tony Stark storyline-actually three storylines converging," Bendis said when the change was announced. "His best friend died, his company is collapsing and he's finding out who his biological parents were all at the same time... How that all shakes out such that Tony is no longer in the armor? You'll have to wait to find out for the end of Civil War II. But it does create a path or Riri Williams, who Tony will know and will be interacting with very shortly in the comics."
