Rogue One DLC Announced for Star Wars: Battlefront
A lot of players were dissapointed when they found out that Finn, Rey, Kylo Ren, and the other new Star Wars Characters from The Force Awakens wouldn't be included in the newest iteration of Star Wars: Battlefront. It looks like EA's now making up for that with the announcement of an entirely new DLC pack called Rogue One: Scarif.

The announcement was made during the EA Games panel at Star Wars Celebration Europe, and though no specific release date was set for the DLC, it was mentioned that it would be during the holidays this year, and that players could go watch Rogue One and then go home and play the new expansion immediately after. That certainly sounds like a good way to spend Christmas break!

It's a little odd that the creative team behind Battlefront decided to skip over TFA entirely (though there is a map from Jakku), but the new Rogue One DLC will no doubt capitalize on a lot of consumers' interest in the Star Wars franchise, and obviously in particular, Rogue One. They also just announced the Death Star DLC, coming in September. Seeing as how Battlefront was released in Fall of last year, the fact that the game is still going strong with new material and interest from fans certainly says something about the game's playability and longevity.

Both Jyn and Krennic were mentioned as playable characters, so Battlefronters can look forward to gaining even more heroes to battle with by the end of the year.
