Rob Liefield Is Hiding Deadpool, Cable, and X-Force Sketches All Over SDCC
Last year, Deadpool exploded onto the scene (again) with an amazing SDCC trailer. And in conjunction with that event, Deadpool creator Rob Liefield hid sketches of the character all over the convention for lucky fans to find in a wonderfully nerdy scavenger hunt. Now, Liefield--who also created Cable and X-Force--is at it again, as he is hiding original sketches of Deadpool, Cable, and X-Force all over the biggest nerd convention of the year.
Opening quote
"Last year's Comic Con sketch hunt was an overwhelming hit with the fans and the feedback I received was so positive I knew I had to do it again this year in celebration of the 25th anniversary of X-Force!" Liefield told Collider. "X-Force was a transformative book whose contributions, designs and characters such as Cable, Deadpool and Domino have stood the test of time. For a generation of fans, Cable and Deadpool are their Spider Man and Wolverine! This year's sketch hunt includes a wider variety of characters, Cable, Domino, Shatterstar, Stryfe and others will be featured as well as plenty of Deadpool! Some will be in color, some will be on actual sketch covers. Each of these would range between $500 and $1000 as commissions but I'm so psyched to be giving away over 10,000.00 in original art for FREE to the wonderful fans who have supported my 30 years in comics!"
Closing quote

The creator will also be dropping hints as to the sketches' locations, which you can find on his Twitter and Instagram accounts. He's already started teasing some of the exclusive artwork:

Since last year's scavenger hunt was in conjunction with the release of the Deadpool movie, does this mean that Liefield has intel about an upcoming X-Force movie? Not necessarily, as he could just be doing the hunt in honor of Cable being confirmed for the Deadpool sequel. But then again, the presence of Cable most likely means the beginning of X-Force, so I wouldn't be surprised if that came after Deadpool 2 (or if it were announced at SDCC).

The hunt begins on SDCC's Preview Night, tomorrow, July 20. The convention then runs from July 21-24.
