New Extended Promo Clips Show Off Joker and Harley’s Romantic Relationship
SDCC is officially underway, and there's sure to be a lot more Suicide Squad related news to hit the web in the next couple days. Most likely, the final trailer for the film will be shown in Hall H on Saturday and release on the internet shortly after. Until then, however, Warner Bros. and DC have chosen to give fans an even closer look at three of the films focal characters: Harley Quinn, the Joker, and Deadshot.

It was just last week that the marketing team released promo clips for each individual member of the squad (and even for a few additional characters, such as Amanda Waller, Rick Flag, and the Joker). Each of the clips ran at about twenty seconds and all of them were cut to Sweet's Ballroom Blitz. These new promos, however, run at about a minute each and feature different songs from the soundtrack.

The romantic aspect present in these clips will undoubtedly be what interests most fans, as the very first shot of Joker kissing Harley was shown, as well as a scene where Harley receives a text from the Joker. This actually reveals a bit about the film, as it seems that even after teaming up with the squad, Harley is still loyal to her Puddin. Then again, the love triangle between Harley, Deadshot, and Joker from the New 52 comics is also supposed to be present in some form for the film, so it'll be interesting to see how the romantic aspects of Suicide Squad actually play out.

The Joker's clip in particular is especially interesting, as it shows off how the Joker can use the smile tattoo on his hand as well as more of Leto's seemingly absurdly crazy take on the character. While reserving judgment until the film actually premieres would be a wise choice, it's hard not to get the impression from what has been released so far that Leto is going to knock this one out of the ballpark with his take on the Clown Prince of Crime.

It's possible that other extended promos for additional squad members and characters will hit the web shortly, but then again, Harley, Joker, and Deadshot are arguably the most preeminent characters of the film, so it's possible that these three were the only ones made. Either way, the final trailer for the film could hopefully debut this weekend if rumors have been accurate.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5th, 2016.
