SDCC: The 100 Boss Reveals Whether Lexa, Roan, and Indra Will Return for Season 4
At the end of The 100 season 3, there was a very high body count, but there were also a few characters whose fates were left up in the air. Roan and Indra were seemingly in mortal danger, and their fates were never revealed. But today, in The 100 panel at SDCC, showrunner Jason Rothenberg revealed both characters' statuses, as well as whether fan favorite Lexa will be back for season 4. And typically enough, there's good news and bad news.

Mild spoilers ahead!

Rothenberg said that Indra and Roan are both still alive, and Zach McGowan would be promoted to a series regular for season 4. Adina Porter will remain in recurring status, but Jason reiterated his love for the character and teased that she will be very significant to Octavia's "dark turn" next season.

And as for Lexa: she was infamously killed off in season 3, but then was able to return for the finale in the City of Light. When asked whether that means she could still return, at least in a guest spot, Rothenberg said:

Opening quote
"The City of Light is gone, ALIE is gone, but the Flame still exists, and the whole line of Commanders is inside it."
Closing quote

He went on to say that the finale was not only meant to wrap up the mythology, but also meant to be a "romantic" goodbye to Lexa's character.

Opening quote
"Lexa's not coming back to the show. She won't be in season 4."
Closing quote

This is disappointing, but it makes sense. Alycia Debnam-Carey is tied up with Fear the Walking Dead, and whatever you might think about her death, narratively speaking her appearance in the finale felt like a farewell. We'll miss Debnam-Carey's presence, but we'll just have to hope that there's a chance that she'll show up in future seasons.
