Jessica Jones and Daredevil Won't Return Until At Least 2018
After Jessica Jones and Daredevil season 2 debuted on Netflix with much fanfare and popularity last year, we're all clamoring for more seasons. Judging from the filming schedule, we could have guessed that we'd have to wait until after the Defenders miniseries, but now it's confirmed: we won't be seeing more seasons of either series until at least 2018.

At the TCA press tour (via Screencrush) Netflix head Ted Sarandos confirmed that after Luke Cage premieres this fall, the two Marvel/Netflix shows of 2017 will be the first season of Iron Fist and the Defenders series, which will bring all four heroes together, and then 2018 and beyond will see the second season of Jessica Jones, the third season of Daredevil, and the Punisher solo series.

It's unclear what the order will be, but judging from the shooting schedule so far, it will likely be Jessica Jones first, since it's been reported that it shot back-to-back with Defenders. Then it's unclear whether Punisher or Daredevil will come next, since they were confirmed around the same time. But either way, we'll likely be able to catch up with all of these characters in Defenders, even Frank Castle.

It's understandable that Marvel would want to space out their TV shows a bit, and the two-shows-per-year model has been working for them so far. But that being said, we're getting very impatient for more Jessica Jones, and fans will probably get pretty restless for more Daredevil in the next couple of years. If the Marvel/Netflix universe continues to expand in both properties and popularity, it's possible they will be forced to increase to three shows per year or more.

Luke Cage premieres on September 30 on Netflix.
