Here's a Crazy (But Very Detailed) Theory About Rey's Parentage
After The Force Awakens, Rey's parentage is one of the biggest remaining mysteries of the new Star Wars trilogy, so naturally, pretty much every single Star Wars character has been rumored to be her mother/father/reincarnation predecessor. And while this video claiming that she's the granddaughter of Palpatine isn't the craziest theory yet, it's pretty far-fetched, even though it lists a lot of (very indirect) evidence:

Granted, this isn't nearly as crazy as Rey being reincarnated Anakin Skywalker, but the evidence is still pretty tenuous. The fact that Rey's fighting style is similar to Palpatine's could mean something, but the move itself isn't so distinctive that it couldn't be a coincidence, and most of the other evidence simply points to Rey being caught between the Light and Dark Side of the Force.

The line in the Star Wars novel, for example, in which a voice in her head tells her to kill Kylo Ren, is pretty compelling evidence that she's pulled to the Dark Side for some reason. But that doesn't even necessarily mean that she's a descendant of someone from the Dark Side; she might just be slightly vulnerable to it because she had such a tragic childhood. I think it would make sense for her to be descended from someone on the Dark Side, since it would be more interesting and surprising than Luke Skywalker, but there doesn't seem to be much direct evidence that it's Palpatine specifically. This theory could easily turn out to be true, but we don't have any real support for it yet.
