Adrianne Palicki Joins Seth MacFarlane's Sci-Fi Comedy - What Does this Mean for Bobbi Morse?
Adrianne Palicki has signed up to play the female lead alongside Seth MacFarlane in the Family Guy creator's untitled SciFi/Comedy project, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans will likely be asking themselves what this news means for the prospect of seeing the actress return as Bobbi Morse on the hit Marvel show.

The question of whether or not Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter will return to Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been a hot topic among fans of the show ever since the characters' planned spin-off, Marvel's Most Wanted, was dropped by ABC. At San Diego Comic Con last weekend, Jeph Loeb responded to the question by saying "It's classified, but keep watching.", which would seem to suggest that the loveable couple will be making a return. But, Palicki's new commitments on MacFarlane's project might mean that any return to AoS for Bobbi Morse will either be fleeting, or not quite as substantial as we hoped. According to Deadline, Palicki is expected to start filming the pilot for the untitled series early this Fall, with 12 more hour-long episodes expected to go into production in early Spring 2017.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has just started production on its fourth season in Los Angeles, so there's plenty of time for Palicki and Nick Blood to shoot some substantial scenes. But, with Marvel likely planning on not having the characters around due to Most Wanted, it's probable that we won't get to see the pair until the latter part of the season at the very best.

Regardless of what it means to the MCU, it's exciting to see Palicki score the lead role on MacFarlane's project. Set 300 years in the future, the show will see Palicki playing Kelly Grayson, a military officer who has just been assigned to the starship, Orville. Unfortunately for Grayson, the Captain of that ship is her ex-husband, Ed, who is played by MacFarlane. If MacFarlane's track record is anything to go by, we can probably expect a ton of references to pop culture and sci-fi classics over the course of the show, so it's nice to see an actor like Palicki, who's had involvement with everything from the MCU to Supernatural, involved at the highest level.
