Steven Moffat Says Peter Capaldi Is Not Leaving Doctor Who
Ever since it was announced that showrunner Steven Moffat would depart Doctor Who after series 10, there have been pervasive rumors that Peter Capaldi and the twelfth Doctor would be thrown out along with the bathwater. But according to Moffat himself, these rumors are unfounded, and we won't be seeing a regeneration at the end of next season.

Opening quote
"I have no reason to suppose that I'm writing out a Doctor," Moffat said in Doctor Who Magazine (via Den of Geek). "Peter is loving the role, and long may he do so."
Closing quote

Capaldi has been vague about how long he wants to play the role in interviews, and with Moffat leaving, many assumed that new showrunner Chris Chibnall would want to start fresh with a new Doctor. But then it was reported that Capaldi had been asked to stay on after Moffat leaves, and it appears that the actor has accepted BBC's offer. This seems to make more sense, since with Moffat's departure and the addition of a new Companion, there are probably enough changes for the fans to deal with. There's also the small detail that this is technically supposed to be the Doctor's last regeneration (but we all know that they'll find a way around that eventually).

Doctor Who will air a Christmas special this December, and then series 10 will come out in 2017.
