Rumor: Flashpoint Will Bring Supergirl Into Earth-1
With Supergirl coming over to The CW this fall, DCTV is already planning huge crossover events with all four of their shows. The fact that Supergirl currently exists in another universe might have made things a little inconvenient, but a new rumor claims that the upcoming Flashpoint storyline will change all of that.

In the season finale of The Flash, Barry went back in time to save his mother's life, altering the entire timeline. Since all the of DCTV shows exist in the same universe, the producers and actors have teased that the consequences of Barry's actions (known in the comics as the Flashpoint storyline) will affect all of the CW DC shows: The Flash, Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow, and now Supergirl. According to a new rumor from Bleeding Cool, the Flashpoint will include a logistical change to Supergirl that will make crossovers a whole lot easier.

Opening quote
As of the upcoming Flashpoint crossover storyline, Supergirl will now be a part of the main DC TV universe. Only Barry Allen will know that they were once separate… any remaining continuity issues will be handwaved as "a time traveller did it".
Closing quote

This would make sense, since Flashpoint will change pretty much everything, and it would make things much easier if Supergirl took place in the same dimension as the other DCTV shows. Especially with that huge crossover between all four shows coming this fall, it would be pretty cumbersome if Supergirl had to travel between dimensions on three separate shows:

But will this be a permanent change? We would assume so,  since The CW will probably want many more similar events to occur in the future, but Grant Gustin has already teased that Flashpoint won't last all season. Perhaps a few changes from Flashpoint will stay in place, or they'll find another way to bring Supergirl into the fold.
