Uh Oh... Miles Teller Wants to Do Another Fantastic Four Movie
Superhero movies have been having a bit of a tough time lately. Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad were both savaged like critics in recent months, and rightfully so. But as bad as those movies are, they look like Citizen Kane compared to last year's Fantastic Four. That abomination is widely considered to be the worst film of the modern superhero era, as well as a financial flop, and common sense says that Fox will not produce a sequel. But if star Miles Teller, who played Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in the film, gets his way, that might be exactly what happens.

In an interview with JoBlo, Teller was asked if he would return for another go-round as the patriarch of Marvel's first family. Here's what he said:

Opening quote
"Yeah, for sure. I loved the cast, I loved the characters. I think it's such an interesting dynamic. I love how much they really need to rely on each other. This Avengers thing, they've kind of created their own Fantastic Four in a way, Marvel's first family. Their powers can't just exist on their own, you need Thor to do this, the Hulk to do his thing. So yeah, absolutely, I would do another one."
Closing quote

OK. We probably don't have to panic quite yet. The fact that Teller wants to make another movie doesn't really matter, since the decision on producing a sequel will be made by the suits at Fox. And what are the odds of that happening? Not great. Fox needs to begin production on a new Fantastic Four movie by 2022 or else they'll lose the rights to Marvel, so there's a decent chance they'll make one. But making another one with Teller and company? The first film lost money, was loathed by fans as well as critics, and there was controversy involving the director and production. However, Fox producer Simon Kinberg did just say in May that he loves the cast of the film, and that Fox wants to make another FF movie. We hope he's just being nice and not showing his cards, since we'd love the series to head back to Marvel, but there is a slim chance that Teller will get another shot at Mr. Fantastic yet.
