Will Marvel Order a Misty Knight Spin-Off Netflix Series?
Simone Missick will appear in the first live-action adaptation of superhero Misty Knight in the upcoming Marvel/Netflix series Luke Cage, and is already rumored to be a standout performer. Does that mean that we could be getting a spin-off solo series a la Punisher from Daredevil season two? According to Marvel, it's definitely possible.

In a new interview, Jeph Loeb stayed fairly vague when asked if Misty Knight would get her own solo series, and implied that the final decision will also lie with Netflix:

Opening quote
"We're very lucky in a sense that our casts are so rich and deep and so diverse," Jeph Loeb told THR. "We certainly have plans for all of our characters. A lot of it has to do with exactly how many shows Netflix is actually going to let us make. We're up to six now. At a certain point, we have to be careful that we're not becoming the Marvel channel on Netflix."

When his interviewer joked that fans wouldn't complain, Loeb said Marvel wouldn't either, and hinted that a Misty Knight series could be in the cards:

Opening quote
"But I think Netflix is being very selective in terms of where we're going. That being said, Simone just knocked it so far out of the park that we're still trying to find the baseball. It's somewhere out there traversing the globe. So it's really great. And I can tell you that what she's doing on Luke Cage, it's just incredible. The fans are really going to love it."

It definitely sounds like he's receptive to the idea, although it will likely depend on her reception in Luke Cage once the first season comes out in the fall. But if fans love her as much as they already seem to (Missick got the biggest applause at the San Diego Comic Con panel, even more than Mike Colter), then there's a good chance this could happen, especially since Marvel is making an effort to make their roster more diverse. While they've added superheroes of color and women to their Avengers and Defenders line-ups, they have never had a black female superhero, or even a woman of color period (unless you count Elektra, who is not actually a member of the Defenders).

Missick, for her part, is totally down for a Misty Knight series, especially one penned by outspoken Luke Cage fan, Shonda Rhimes:

Luke Cage will stream its first season starting September 30 on Netflix.
