Learn the History of the Stranger Things Title Sequence--And Create Your Own
Stranger Things has become the TV hit of the summer, not least as a result of its consistently retro feel. From the young, earnest characters to the paranoid sci-fi conspiracy to the bold typeface of the title card, everything is tailor-made to make you nostalgic for the 80's. Now, Vox has made a video detailing the process behind that retro title sequence, and especially that font:

The typeface is called ITC Benguiat, and you may not know it, but it has appeared on so many iconically 80's things that it's guaranteed to subliminally remind you of that era. It's appeared on everything from "Choose Your Own Adventure Books" to the Smiths album "Strangeways Here We Come" to the FBI piracy warning (talk about a relic of another age).

And if you can't get enough of that typeface, a new title card generator allows you to "Stranger Things-ify" anything you want. We could all get pretty creative with this, although the top ten choices are all pretty predictable (and make us think that "Stranger Danger" would have been an even more nostalgic title for the show):
