Remixed Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Trailer Proves Beastie Boys Make Everything Better
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is a rare beast. It's a major Star Wars motion picture that won't have a score from legendary composer, John Williams. Sure, it does have the equally brilliant Alexandre Desplat filling those sizeable shoes, but surely a lack of John Williams leaves some interesting opportunities for experimentation when it comes to the movie's score?

These days, sci-fi blockbusters like Guardians of the Galaxy, Suicide Squad, and Star Trek Beyond are experimenting with the infusion of classic pop songs in their sound tracks. Of those three, Guardians of the Galaxy executed best, while other efforts have been a little more, shall we say, clumsy. Star Trek: Beyond's use of Beastie Boys' hit Sabotage might have been firmly filed away under the clumsy category, but that song is so damn good that it still managed to elevate the action unfolding on screen. As if to prove how effective a storytelling tool Sabotage can be – and maybe to spark some more rivalry between two huge sci-fi franchises– Youtube user Matthew Longua has remixed the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer, adding in a healthy dash of sabotage. The result is, as you would expect, absolutely brilliant.
