Mr. Sinister Confirmed For 'Wolverine 3'
It looks like those theories regarding the X-Men: Apocalypse after credits scene were right after all: Mr. Sinister is going to be the villain in Wolverine 3.

According to CinemaBlend, the recently released digital download of Apocalypse features audio commentary by director Bryan Singer and producer Simon Kinberg that confirms this. The two discuss the previously mentioned after-credits scene, where a man with a suitcase labeled "Essex Corp." steals a vial of Wolverine's blood from the Weapon X facility. During their commentary, the two reportedly state that the scene is meant to set up the appearance of Nathaniel Essex, AKA Mr. Sinister, in the next Wolverine movie.

For comics fans, Sinister seems a bit of an odd choice for a standalone Wolverine movie. He's more of an overall X-Men foe than a Wolverine villain, and has been most involved with the characters of Cyclops and Jean Grey. He's also heavily intertwined with Apocalypse, so it will be interesting to see if their connection makes it to the movie. As far as casting goes, the current theory is that English actor Richard E. Grant, who has been cast as "mad scientist" in the film, will portray the character. He would certainly add the appropriate level of sophistication to the role, but his casting is just speculation at this point. Then again, they could always try and get this guy:
