Han Solo Anthology Movie Recruits "Arrival" and "Selma" Cinematographer
The Han Solo anthology movie is already getting a mixed reaction from fans, but this should help ease their minds a tiny bit. The film just pulled off a huge coup by hiring Bradford Young, an award-winning cinematographer for Selma and the upcoming Denis Villeneuve sci-fi film, Arrival.

Young has been working on acclaimed indie movies for many years now, many of which are specifically praised for the quality of the visuals. In addition to Selma, which was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars, and Arrival, which hasn't come out yet but already looks absolutely beautiful, he was also behind the highly underrated Oscar Isaac/Jessica Chastain crime movie, A Most Violent Year, as well as the Casey Affleck/Rooney Mara indie drama Ain't Them Bodies Saints

This is great news for the Han Solo movie, especially since Young is joining an already formidable creative team. The film will be directed by The LEGO Movie's Christopher Miller and Phil Lord, and will be written by Star Wars veteran Lawrence Kasdan, in collaboration with his son, Jon. And with up-and-coming talent Alden Ehrenreich playing the young Han Solo, we might just forget that this movie feels pretty unnecessary.

The Han Solo anthology movie hits theaters on May 25, 2018.
