This Week in Star Wars: Movies Planned for the 2020s, Additional Leia Scenes in Episode VIII, and More
Disney chairman Bob Iger gave an update on the future of the franchise, and they are reportedly beginning to plan movies past 2021. He also confirmed that an anthology movie is coming in 2020.

Carrie Fisher has cut her NYCC visit short for Episode VIII filming. Does that mean an expanded role for General Leia in the sequel?

In other Episode VIII news, Lupita Nyong'o has finally filmed her scenes, but since it's so late in production, it's probably safe to say Maz Kanata has a fairly small role.

Our favorite tiny green sage is getting his own prequel comic! Yoda's backstory will be explored in Star Wars #26, also coming in December.

Speaking of Star Wars comics, a super-secret new Star Wars series is coming in December from Kieron Gillen, the writer of the acclaimed run of Darth Vader.

Star Wars Rebels finally premiered last night! Catch up on the first three seasons with this handy recap video:

TV Guide also released descriptions from the first four episodes:

Closing quote

Fans haven't been overly excited about the Han Solo prequel movie, but there's no denying that there's stellar talent involved. In addition to The Lego Movie's Phil Lord and Christopher Miller directing and Lawrence Kasdan co-writing, Arrival and Selma cinematographer Bradford Young has joined the second anthology movie.

Star Wars Battlefront has come out with a Death Star expansion pack that allows you to either attack the Death Star as part of the Rebel Alliance, or defend it as part of the Empire. In less happy news, Star Wars: Uprising has announced that it's shutting down

Check out our Star Wars-heavy cosplay round-up from Long Beach Comic Con last weekend, which included a life-size R2 D-2 droid, a roller-blading R2 D-2 human, and this amazing Millennium Falcon with a dog pilot:
