The Punisher Solo Series Has Officially Begun Filming
The finally-confirmed Punisher series has been casting for a few months, and now we have official confirmation that the series has started filming. Check out the first set photos of Jon Bernthal reprising his acclaimed role as Frank Castle:

Aside from the fact that it stars Bernthal and will take place after the events of Daredevil, the series has remained mostly mysterious so far. We know that English actor Ben Barnes was cast in a mysterious villain role, possibly Bobby Saint, and there was a rumor that the show was casting Microchip. But other than that, casting and plot details remain unknown (although we really hope Karen Page jumps ship from Daredevil and becomes a regular).

But the real question is, when will the show come out? Charlie Cox has confirmed that Defenders shoots at the end of this year, and Jessica Jones season 2 films right after. Ted Saranos previously stated that Defenders would definitely come out in 2017, while more seasons of Jessica Jones and Daredevil would wait until 2018. Usually, Marvel maintains a two-shows-per-year policy, but considering that Iron Fist and Defenders are both slated for 2017, and Punisher seems to be filming before Defenders (where Jon Bernthal will likely make an appearance), there's a chance the rumors are true and they're about to start breaking that rule.
