Guardians of the Galaxy Killed More People Than Any Movie Ever
Guardians of the Galaxy is considered by many fans to be the most fun and happy movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but apparently it's a lot darker than we thought. According to a study from financial services website Go Compare, Guardians has the most on-screen deaths of any movies since the 1940s - by a lot.

Thanks in large part to the 80,000 Nova Corps. members murdered by Ronan, the film has a total of 83,871 kills... far more than the next nine films combined. Here's the top ten:

1. Guardians of the Galaxy – 83,871
2. Dracula Untold – 5,687
3. The Sum of All Fears – 2,922
4. The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King - 2,798
5. 300: Rise of an Empire – 2,234
6. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers – 1,741
7. The Matrix Revolutions – 1,647
8. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies – 1,417
9. Braveheart – 1,297
10. The Avengers – 1,019

The rest of the movies on the list all have major battle scenes (or a nuclear explosion), so it's not terribly surprising to see them on here. What is surprising is the sheer amount of deaths that Guardians beats all of them by, especially since the movie accomplishes this without much fanfare. We're also somewhat surprised by the lack of The Force Awakens and its infamous billion deaths scene, but apparently that counts as happening off-screen. In any case, DC fans will now have a new point to argue against Marvel supporters who claim the DCEU is too dark and violent.
