Star Wars Is Coming Out with a Young Adult Novel About Jyn Erso
At New York Comic Con today, Lucasfilm announced that they're coming out with a series of Rogue One novels, including a young adult novel about Jyn Erso.

The announcement came from the Star Wars writers' roundtable this morning, which included Timothy Zahn (Heir to the Empire, Thrawn), Chuck Wendig (Aftermath, Life Debt), Jim Luceno (Tarkin, Catalyst), E.K. Johnston (Ahsoka), and Charles Soule (Lando, Obi-Wan & Anakin, Poe Dameron). In addition to the Jyn Erso novel, there will be a book spotlighting Donnie Yen's character, Chirrut Îmwe, which will be written by Greg Rucka (Smuggler's Run), and another featuring Baze. All of the novels will focus on Rogue One characters, which hopefully signals a confidence in Rogue One's chances for success.

They also announced that for the 40th anniversary of the release of A New Hope, Lucasfilm will be partnering with Del Rey, Hachette, and Marvel to release new books and comics. Marvel will make an official announcement about those comics next week, but hopefully it will involve Darth Vader writer Kieron Gillen, especially since he was a surprise guest on the panel, and the Lucasfilm execs teased that many of the writers on the old titles would return for the new ones coming out for the anniversary.
