Hayley Atwell to Return as Agent Carter in the Animated Avengers Series
It looks like we'll officially be seeing more of Peggy Carter, although unfortunately not in the form of a third season. Instead, Hayley Atwell will return to voice the character in the next season of the animated series Avengers Assemble, which will be called Avengers: Secret Wars.

After Agent Carter was unceremoniously canceled after two seasons, leaving fans with several unresolved cliffhangers, there has been a lot of talk about bringing the beloved character back—somehow. The Civil War writers teased another one-shot for Peggy, Chloe Bennet teased that Peggy could end up on Agents of SHIELD (through time travel, presumably), and Hayley Atwell has been vocal about her desire to return to the role, even saying that she's been "hounding" Marvel for a solo movie.

Hopefully, this isn't the end-all, be-all solution for the Peggy Carter demand, but it's better than nothing. As revealed at Marvel's animation panel at New York Comic Con (via io9), Atwell will voice Peggy in an upcoming episode of Avengers Assemble that will also feature Howard Stark (not necessarily played by Dominic Cooper), and will see Peggy ally herself with Captain America (of course) and Iron Man to defeat Kang the Conqueror. She'll need to use time travel to meet Tony Stark in the present day, of course, so we can still dream that she could use the same methods to come to Agents of SHIELD.
