Ant-Man and the Wasp Confirmed for Avengers 4, But Not Infinity War
Ant-Man and the Wasp are both officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe now, but when are we going to see them in action? According to Evangeline Lilly, we won't get to see them in Infinity War, but they will both be full-fledged superheroes just in time for the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4.

Speaking to Blastr at New York Comic Con, Lilly said that Marvel didn't want to include the heroes in Infinity War, because they didn't want to introduce them as superheroes before giving Wasp, and the partnership, its proper origin story.

Opening quote
"There's an Avengers series coming out, it's a two-parter. The Wasp won't be in the first part, she'll be in the second part because they really want to preserve that reveal for Ant-Man and the Wasp so they can give it its due time."

So in order to give the Wasp her due, Lilly says that the Ant-Man and the Wasp movie will essentially be an origin story for Wasp. (She says the script has been written, although it's still waiting on approval.)

Opening quote
"I'm excited because it's essentially going to be the origin of the Wasp. Of course, we're going to see the Wasp for the first time take on the mantle and put on the suit and fly about and do her thing."
Closing quote

Ant-Man and the Wasp will hit theaters on July 6, 2018. Avengers 4 is slated to come out on May 3, 2019.
