Chewie Nearly Rips Unkar Plutt's Arm Out in New Force Awakens Deleted Scene
A new deleted scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens has been released! The promo for the film's 3-D Collector's Edition Blu-ray, coming out next month, shows us a scene with Unkar Plutt, Rey, and Chewbacca in the cantina on Takodana. Take a look (via EW):

When we last saw Plutt, a junk boss on Jakku, Plutt was screaming at Rey for stealing the Millennium Falcon. Now we see that Plutt actually tracked Rey all the way to Takodana, so he could turn her in for the bounty. We were never really sure what happened to him after that, but once Rey and BB-8 arrived at Maz Kanata's cantina, they were spotted and reported to the First Order. It's possible that Plutt got wind of their location, or maybe he put a tracker on the Falcon. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened, and in fact it's par for the course with the notorious ship.

Fans of Chewbacca will be happy to see our favorite fluffy bestie had a substantial role. He's not so warm and cuddly in this deleted scene though. Chewie gets angry with Unkar Plutt, who is threatening Rey. (Aww, even when he's intimidating, Chewie is super cute!)

Many fans were left bummed that we didn't see more of Chewie in The Force Awakens. He was very "vocal" in previous films, but his role was kept mostly in the background during it's newest installment. Those who love Chewbacca know he's quick to protect his friends, and from the moment he meets Rey he does the same for her.  It's nice to know that Chewie had known Rey for more than a few minutes. It explains why he teams up with her, and flies off with her in the Falcon at the end of The Force Awakens. We'd love to see more of Chewie in the future, especially now that he's found a new partner in crime.

According to EW, the deleted scene doesn't end with Chewie's entrance. Apparently the scene goes on after the clip that was released! After Plutt pokes Chewie in his wounded arm, the Wookie then rips Plutt's arm from his socket. Plutt should have "let the Wookie win," as C3-PO suggested back in Episode IV A New Hope. At least we'll finally get to see what Chewie's known for!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes to 3-D Collector's Edition Blu-ray on November 15th.
