Honest Trailers Goes After the Ghostbusters Reboot
It's hard to think of a more divisive or controversial movie in recent years than the Ghostbusters reboot. The film received a storm of criticism before it was even released, with the movie's trailer becoming the most disliked trailer in YouTube history. On the flip side, those who supported the film praised it as a stunningly great and monumentally funny film. The truth lies somewhere in the middle. It's a solid, if unspectacular, fairly funny, modern action blockbuster - which is basically the conclusion drawn by Screen Junkies in their new Honest Trailer for the film.

Knowing that they're wading into controversial waters, the narration begins by stating, "Are we sure we wanna do this one? Fine, we'll do it, but we're turning off the comments. You did this to yourself, internet." From there, the trailer picks apart the movie in their typical fashion, calling out the forgettable villain, the characters' personalities and lack of chemistry, and how the third act is indistinguishable from the end of Adam Sandler's Pixels. The trailer also discusses the controversy surrounding the film, and comes up with this nice summary of the movie: "Proves once and for all that girls can make middle-of-the-road studio-mandated franchise bait just as well as the boys." Pretty spot-on assessment.
