Is Mark Hamill Playing the Jokester on This Season of The Flash?
Mark Hamill is one of the true kings of geek culture, having played both Luke Skywalker in Star Wars and having voiced the most iconic incarnation of the Joker ever in Batman: The Animated Series. He's also been involved in a number of other lesser known geeky roles, like the Trickster in the original Flash TV series from the 90s, and the same character from the current Flash series on the CW. Now, it looks like Hamill can add another character to his resume: the Jokester.

There are a number of news sites currently reporting that Hamill may be playing the Joker as evidenced by these new set pictures, but aside from the funny suit and pale makeup, there's really no similarities between Hamill's costume and the classic appearance of the most famous villain in all of comics. With John Wesley Shipp in costume as Jay Garrick beside him, it makes much more sense to believe that Hamill is in fact playing another DC character from Earth 3: the Jokester.

The Jokester is essentially the Earth 3 version of the Joker, though there are some huge differences. For one, the Jokester has a concrete backstory; the Joker doesn't. Likewise, the Joker's true hair color has always been green after his fall into that vat at Ace Chemicals. The Jokester, on the other hand, has dark hair, quite similar to what Hamill is pictured as having for the role. While it's every Batfan's dream to see Hamill take a crack at playing a live action version of the Clown Prince of Crime, DC fans probably shouldn't get their hopes up for it to happen on The Flash. The Joker is a Batman villain, after all.

The Flash will return next Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on the CW. Mark Hamill will make his return appearance on the show later this season.
