Netflix's The Punisher Adds Five New Cast Members
We've been hungry for news of the Punisher series ever since it was announced, and at long last, Marvel has officially confirmed that the first season will come out in 2017. And as a bonus, we also get five new casting announcements, some of which will be very familiar to comics fan.

Here are the character descriptions from the official Marvel.com announcement:
Opening quote
Daniel Webber ("11.22.63") has been cast as Lewis Walcott, a young veteran who has had a difficult time re-assimilating into Civilian Society.

Jason R. Moore ("A Lonely Place for Dying") joins as Curtis Hoyle, a friend of Frank Castle's and one of the few people who knows he is alive.

Paul Schulze ("Nurse Jackie") will play Rawlins, a high-ranking member of the CIA whose operations in Afghanistan intersect with Frank Castle.

Jaime Ray Newman ("Bates Motel") plays Sarah Lieberman, Micro's wife (played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach) whose marriage has made her life far more complicated.

Michael Nathanson ("The Knick," "Wolf of Wall Street") has been cast as Sam Stein, a Homeland agent who is challenged by his partnership with Dinah (Amber Rose Revah).
Closing quote

While a few of these characters seem to be original creations for the show, there are a couple of familiar names; "Rawlins" most likely refers to comics character William Rawlins, a corrupt CIA officer who has an unpleasant run-in with Frank Castle, while Curtis Hoyle was one of Frank Castle's army buddies.

The series previously announced that Deborah Ann Woll would reprise her role as Karen Page, while Ben Barnes will play comics villain Jigsaw and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Girls) will play Micro.

The Punisher is expected to come out after Iron Fist, but before Defenders, possibly in summer 2017.
