Wonder Woman to Start Reshoots in Two Weeks
Unless the editor is George Lucas and it's two decades after the original trilogy already premiered in theaters, revision is almost always a good thing. It allows filmmakers to correct issues they've become aware of after viewing the project in its entirety and to polish their work before presenting it to the public. There have been a number of classic movies to undergo revision in the form of reshoots (i.e. Back to the Future, Rocky, The Avengers, Star Wars: Episode VII), and according to a new exclusive from FlickReelWonder Woman can now be added to that number.

The report details that director Patty Jenkins will be returning with her cast and crew to Leavesden in the UK in order to do reshoots in about two weeks time. This was the expected location, as a castle and some period buildings were constructed on set for the first shoot.

Though there are obvious benefits to doing reshoots, some people still find them ominous. There are some horror stories about cinematic reshoots; particularly, studios can massacre certain directors' visions by ordering reshoots that align more with the executives' moneymaking vision than it does with the artists' own. That's what happened with Suicide Squad, as WB claimed they wanted to capture the same aesthetic that was in the film's second trailer, and with these reshoots being ordered the day after the second Wonder Woman trailer premiered, some fans are understandably worried.

So are the Wonder Woman reshoots something that Jenkins wanted, or is the studio behind them? Knowing the answer to that question would definitely help in determining whether they're bad news for the film. The trailers have been beautiful, but so were the trailers for Suicide Squad. If Warner Bros. think the tone is off, they could end up doing more harm than good with their method of course correction; they've already proven with their interference with Suicide Squad that they shouldn't be the ones making creative decisions.

Wonder Woman is slated for a release on June 2nd, 2017.
