Game of Thrones Alum Ciaran Hinds to Play Steppenwolf in Justice League
Remember the CGI alien from that Batman v Superman deleted scene with Jesse Eisenberg? Well, now fans have a name to go with that ugly computer generated face, and that name is Ciaran Hinds of Game of Thrones fame. A new exclusive from The Wrap has revealed that Hinds will be playing the Apokoliptian creature, Steppenwolf, in the upcoming DCEU film, Justice League.

In the comics, Steppenwolf is a resident of the DC planet, Apokolips, and is lieutenant to its ruler, Darkseid. The Mother Boxes (which also originate on Apokolips) have already been shown in the trailers and in the deleted scene to be one of the connections that could potentially bring Steppenwolf to Earth. It's been widely reported that Steppenwolf will be the big-bad for Justice League, and that his boss, Darkseid, will be saved for the sequel.

The Wrap is also reporting that the role will involve motion capture, meaning that Steppenwolf will likely be all CGI, just as he was in Batman v Superman. However, they're also reporting that he'll be given an updated look. Whether that look is more human or alien (his comic book appearance has more human features) hasn't been revealed.

Justice League is slated for a release on November 17th, 2017.
