After Tim Miller's Exit, Will Deadpool 2 Be Delayed?
After Tim Miller very publicly departed the Deadpool sequel, reportedly as a result of creative differences with Ryan Reynolds, there was surprisingly little talk about whether this setback would delay production. Now, conflicting reports are coming out about the film's shooting dates, and while no announcement has been made either way about whether the movie will come out in early 2018 as planned, the chances don't look great.

According to a new report from What's FilmingDeadpool 2 has a set production date in January 2017, which seems remarkably quick, considering they don't even have a director as of this moment. Most likely, this is old information, especially since Collider's sources report that Miller was eyeing a March 2017 production date while everything was going along smoothly, so it's very improbable that they will be ready before spring. Considering that they were reportedly still casting Cable and Domino when Miller exited (and the casting of Cable was a point of contention between Miller and Reynolds), there will likely be production delays while they find a new director (and composer).

But does that mean that Deadpool's release will be delayed altogether? Fox still hasn't announced an official release date (although IMDb claims March 2018, which would make sense given a planned March production date), so they could unofficially push it back without much blowback. We should probably hope that it's delayed as long as it needs to be, so the new director isn't scrambling to gain his or her bearings and we don't end up with the kind of superhero sequel that Deadpool would probably make fun of.
