Y the Last Man Is Heading to TV With American Gods Showrunner
One of the most-acclaimed comic book series of all-time is coming to TV.

Y the Last Man, Brian K. Vaughan's story about the last man left on the planet after all other male mammals mysteriously die from a plague (save for his pet monkey) will soon be headed to FX, with a pilot written by American Gods showrunner Michael Green and Vaughan himself. The series will be an ongoing drama following in the footsteps other adult comic adaptations like The Walking Dead and Preacher, both of which air on AMC.

Vertigo Comics

The series also eliminates the possibility of the forever-in-development-hell Y the Last Man movie, which Dark Knight producer David S. Goyer had been trying to get off the ground for years, now that the rights have transferred from original publisher Vertigo Comics to creators Vaughan and artist Pia Guerra. The original comic lasted 60 issues, meaning there should be plenty of material to fill out a TV series - especially with Vaughan on board as a writer. It's certainly a good time to be a comic book fan.
