Disney Is Reportedly Looking to Buy Netflix
Netflix's big deal with Disney they signed back in 2012 is just now beginning to bear fruit, with the streaming service now being the first stop for new releases from the Mouse House - including Marvel and Star Wars movies. But the two companies could become even cozier if a new rumored deal goes through.

According to TechCrunch, Disney is looking to buy Netflix entirely. That could potentially open up the doors to even more goodies from the studio's extensive back catalog, which could fill the gaps in Netflix's library as the service continues to move toward producing more of its own content and buying the rights to fewer films (you're not imagining things, Netflix really does offer fewer movies than it used to). As long as Netflix's original stuff continues to look like Stranger Things and their Marvel shows (which they co-produce with Disney), then we're all in favor of them continuing to prioritize it. And since Disney's film and television library is nothing to sneeze at either, a streaming service consisting mainly of established content from Disney and original content from Netflix would certainly be a must-have.

What isn't clear is how this deal, if it happens, would affect Hulu. Disney currently owns 30 percent of Netflix's biggest competitor, and it's the streaming destination for shows from Disney-owned ABC and the Disney Channel. Would Disney keep its stake in Hulu, or would it move that library to Netflix as well?

There are a lot of questions, and the deal is not confirmed, but if it goes through it could make for some exciting options in home entertainment.
