The CW Releases Official Synopsis For the Huge DCTV Crossover Event
We're drawing close to the 100th episode of the CW's Arrow, and that means the long-awaited crossover episode with Supergirl and the Flash. We found out several months ago that the chief villain of the crossover event, titled Invasion!, would be the Dominators, an alien race bent on neutralizing Earth's metahumans, but whether we would see a full-scale planetary invasion (as shown in the comics) was unclear.

Now the new synopsis raises even more questions:

Opening quote
ARROW CELEBRATES 100 EPISODES; THE EPIC SUPERHERO CROSSOVER CONTINUES - Oliver (Stephen Amell) wakes up to a life where he never got on The Queen's Gambit. Robert (guest star Jamey Sheridan) and Moira Queen (guest star Susanna Thompson) are alive and well. Laurel (guest star Katie Cassidy) is his loving fiancée and their wedding is imminent. Everything seems perfect, but Oliver starts to notice small imperfections that make him question this new reality. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and the recruits take on a new threat with help from The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin) and Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist).
Closing quote

Arrow has dealt with a lot of weird stuff, including magic and hidden international conspiracies, so this new development could be the result of a number of things. Starting from the assumption that all this has something to do with the Dominators, we can make a guess that Oliver might be the victim of mind control, sort of like that episode of Batman the Animated series where the Mad Hatter tricks Batman into entering a dreamworld where (again) his parents are alive, he's married to the love of his life, and he's happy, for once. We've already seen something exactly like this in Supergirl Season 1: the Black Mercy, an alien parasite that does what the synopsis describes.

Another option is that this has something to do with Flashpoint, which sent ripples throughout the DC TV universe. That might be a little more far-fetched, considering that a combined Flashpoint-Dominator event synching up on the 100th episode of Arrow seems pretty complicated to unravel. The synopsis for Supergirl's lead-up episode to the crossover doesn't give too much away, but the Flash's episode summary hints that Flashpoint will play a big role. So nothing's off the table, DC fans!

Either way, it'll be exciting to see Supergirl, the Flash, and Team Arrow meeting up and fighting bad guys all in one place! If you haven't seen the Heroes vs. Aliens promo spot with a look at Deathstroke and the Dominators ("They look like World War Z zombies!"—Barry Allen), check it out here!

The big crossover event starts on Monday, November 28th on the CW.
