Here's When Marvel's The Inhumans Is Premiering
When Marvel recently announced their new Inhumans TV series, they played it pretty fast and loose with the release date. We knew the miniseries would premiere sometime next year, we just didn't know when. Now we do - or at least, we know when the first two episodes will premiere in IMAX theaters.

The unique arrangement, which will see the first two hours of the series screened exclusively on IMAX before heading over to ABC, will begin on Labor Day next year, which falls on September 4. The IMAX Inhumans will stay in theaters for two weeks before moving to the small screen as part of the alphabet network's new fall lineup. It marks the first time a TV show will ever premiere in theaters, and was actually IMAX's idea. The theater company even paid to produce the first two episodes, though they're declining to say how much it cost, and they were filmed entirely with IMAX cameras. All of this makes the series (or at least those first two episodes) sound like it's going to be of a quality never before seen on network TV.

Marvel, ABC, and IMAX all plan on heavily promoting the event next summer, meaning that you'll likely be inundated with everything Inhumans in about 8 months. What remains to be seen though, is how the series' success, or lack thereof, will affect ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Depending on how the current season goes, AOS might not be back for a season 5. And given how the show has gone all-in on Inhumans, it doesn't bode well for its odds to hear that the new series is completely unrelated and not a spinoff.
